What Is CompTIA SecurityX Certification?
CompTIA SecurityX, formerly CASP+, is CompTIA’s expert-level cybersecurity certification for security architects and senior security engineers. It certifies that you can architect, engineer, integrate and implement secure solutions across complex environments to support a resilient enterprise. CompTIA positions it for hands-on practitioners who stay in the technology, rather than managers who set policy.
The exam covers security operations (automation, monitoring, detection and incident response), security for cloud, on-premises and hybrid environments, cryptography and emerging trends such as artificial intelligence, and governance, risk, compliance and threat modeling.
Our SecurityX certification training is built for experienced IT and security professionals who want the focused preparation a SecurityX Boot Camp provides: five live days of instruction and hands-on labs with an expert instructor who connects the material to your experience.
SecurityX Certification Requirements
CompTIA recommends a minimum of 10 years of general, hands-on IT experience that includes at least 5 years of broad, hands-on IT security experience before you take SecurityX, along with Network+, Security+, CySA+, Cloud+ and PenTest+ or equivalent knowledge. The certification is aimed at senior practitioners. The job roles CompTIA lists for SecurityX are security architect, security engineer and application security engineer.

SecurityX Certification Cost
Taking the exam on your own? You buy an exam voucher from the CompTIA Store and take the test through Pearson VUE. The retail price of the SecurityX (V5) exam voucher is $509. CompTIA sets the fee and can change it, so confirm the current price before you buy. If you do not pass, you need another voucher to retake the exam, unless you bought one with CompTIA’s retake assurance.

Achieve your goal
It is easier to plan test prep than to do it. When you spend your days making crucial decisions, study plans often lose to fatigue by nightfall. An accelerated SecurityX Boot Camp takes the temptation to postpone off the table and gives you space to immerse yourself in the material, so you can be exam-ready in less time than if you studied alone.
Retain more information
Five days give you more than exposure to the concepts on the exam. It is a focused experience with a rigorous schedule. You talk through concepts and situations with your instructor and peers, which grounds your learning so you can recall it when you need it.
Stay focused
An expert instructor who translates concepts into practical terms helps you grasp the content and test your understanding. Learning alongside peers who share your goals keeps you accountable. It is easy to lose focus alone at your desk with a book.
Connect real-world experience
Your years of practical experience are the most valuable thing you bring to your role. Turning what you know from doing into the principles CompTIA tests can challenge even seasoned practitioners. Your instructor helps you connect that experience to the exam material.
Dedicated support
