The online CISM Boot Camp is delivered live by an expert instructor by webinar. It follows the same four-day curriculum as our in-person classes, so you get the same coverage of all four exam domains without travel. You also get access to replays of the daily lessons for 180 days.

What Is CISM Certification?
The Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) is the ISACA credential for professionals who manage, design, oversee and assess an enterprise’s information security. It validates expertise in security governance, risk management, program development and incident management, and it is recognized worldwide.
Who should attend an online CISM Training Class?
Security and IT professionals who manage, or are moving into managing, an organization’s security program. ISACA does not require training or education hours. It does require five years of information security management experience (at least three years in three of the four CISM domains), and you can take the exam before you have it. A CISSP or CISA in good standing can waive up to 2 of the 5 years. See the full requirements and waivers.

CISM Exam Domains and Format
The exam has 150 multiple-choice questions in four hours, computer-based at a PSI test center or remotely proctored. The passing score is 450 on a scaled 200 to 800 score. The course is updated to ISACA’s latest exam outline (2026), which applies to exams taken from November 3, 2026.

Work Experience, Waivers and Substitutions
You need five years of information security management experience, with at least three years in three of the four domains, all within the ten years before you apply. A current CISA or CISSP in good standing waives 2 years; an MBA or master’s in information security or a related field waives 2; a bachelor’s in information security or a skills-based certification such as Security+ waives 1. Only one substitution applies, with documentation. Read the details and verify with ISACA before you apply.

The Certification Academy CISM Boot Camp includes your exam voucher. On their own, candidates pay ISACA an exam fee of $575 (members) or $760 (non-members) and a one-time $50 application processing fee after passing. Annual maintenance is $45 for members and $85 for non-members.
